Refrigerator Not cooling or Freezing   .

Please follow these list and check it one by one

1. The problem about power line

A.Check the power plug: Check if the refrigerator plug is securely plugged into the socket and if the socket is powered on. You can try inserting other electrical plugs into this socket to see if it works properly. If the socket is not powered, check if the corresponding switch in the home distribution box has tripped. If it has tripped, try closing the switch.

B. Check the power cord: Carefully inspect the refrigerator power cord for any damage, breakage, or other issues. If the power cord is found to be damaged, it needs to be replaced with a power cord of the same specification. When repairing, first cut off the power supply, open the cover plate on the back or bottom of the refrigerator, find the power cord connection end, remove the old power cord, connect the new power cord, make sure the connection is firm, then cover the cover plate and turn on the power for testing

2.. The problem about cooling system

A. Check the compressor

◦ Listen for sound: A normally running compressor has a slight buzzing sound. If no sound is heard, it may be that the compressor has not started. Touch the compressor casing with your hand (operate after power off), and if you do not feel any vibration, it can also assist in judgment.

Check overload protector: There is an overload protector near the compressor, and if it trips, it will cause the compressor to not work. You can check if there are any obvious signs of damage to the protector, such as burning. If the overload protector trips, you can try waiting for a period of time for it to cool down before manually resetting (some protectors reset automatically). If frequent tripping still occurs after resetting, it may be an internal fault of the compressor, such as a short circuit in the motor winding. In this case, professional maintenance personnel need to replace the compressor.

3. Refrigerant leakage

Observe the refrigeration pipeline: Check whether there is frost, uneven condensation, or oil stains on the surface of the refrigeration pipeline inside the refrigerator. If there are oil stains, it is likely to be a refrigerant leakage point.

Pressure testing: Professional maintenance personnel will use specialized tools to perform pressure testing on the refrigeration system to determine if there are any leaks. If it is confirmed that there is a refrigerant leak, the leak point needs to be identified and repaired. Common methods for repairing leaks include welding (for metal pipelines) and using sealing agents (for minor leaks). After repairing the leak, it is necessary to refill the refrigerant. This process requires professional equipment and technology, and it is recommended to have professional maintenance personnel operate it.

4.Temperature controller issue

1. Check the thermostat settings: Check if the thermostat gear is set correctly. Generally, it can be set to a lower gear in summer and a higher gear in winter. If set improperly, adjust to the appropriate gear and observe whether the refrigeration condition of the refrigerator returns to normal.

2. Thermostat malfunction: If the thermostat is set correctly but the refrigerator still does not cool, it may be a thermostat malfunction. A multimeter can be used to measure the on/off status of the thermostat. If the thermostat is damaged, it needs to be replaced with a new one. When replacing, first cut off the power, remove the fixing screws of the internal temperature controller of the refrigerator, unplug the connecting plug, replace with a new temperature controller, install it in reverse order, and conduct a power test.

5、Other issues

A. Loose refrigerator door seal: Check if the refrigerator door seal is deformed or aged, which may cause the seal to be loose. You can clip an A4 paper between the refrigerator door and the box, close the refrigerator door, and if the paper can be easily removed, it indicates that the door seal is not sealed properly. You can try using a hair dryer to heat and shape the deformed part of the door seal (pay attention to temperature and distance to avoid damaging the door seal). If the door seal is severely aged, it needs to be replaced with a new one.

B. Excessive frosting on the evaporator: Failure to defrost for a long time and excessive frosting on the evaporator can affect the cooling effect. You can turn off the refrigerator power, take out the food, open the refrigerator door, let the frost melt naturally, or wipe it with a dry towel. After cleaning, reconnect the power, set the temperature, and observe whether the refrigerator cooling returns to normal.

By gradually investigating through the above methods, the cause of most refrigerators not cooling can be found and solved. If you are not familiar with maintenance operations, it is recommended to seek the help of professional refrigerator maintenance personnel to avoid more serious damage.
